I am excited to be able to share with the East Devonport Primary community that I will be acting Principal at least until the end of term 1. I am really looking forward to continuing to work with the community, especially our amazing students over the next several weeks.
I continue to be inspired by the number of opportunities our students are offered here at East Devonport. Just this week we have students going on Year 2 camp, our Children’s University program starting again for 2024 and the chance for our student leaders to show their commitment to the school through volunteering to support our BBQ this Saturday in the courtyard from 10am-2.00pm. (Volunteer assistance would be greatly appreciated if you can spare some time, and hold a WWVP. Please contact the office if you can assist)
Finally, I wanted to highlight our excellent hot lunch program and thank all the volunteers, TAFE support and businesses that make this happen. It is such a great experience to sit and dine with our students and teachers whilst enjoying a nice warm meal.
I wish you all a very happy and safe Easter break next weekend and look forward to seeing everybody after this break.

End of Term Rotary BBQ - No Hot Lunches
On Friday 12 April, as is our tradition, the team at Rotary will be holding our end of term BBQ. Due to this and the Year 3-4 Camp, we will not be having hot lunch on this day. If students do not wish to participate in the BBQ they will require a packed lunch.
On Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th of March, students from East Devonport Primary travelled to The Penguin Athletics Complex to compete in the NWPSSA Athletics Carnival. Each student represented our school with pride, displaying explementary behaviour, sportsmanship and ran each race with determination and enthusiasm.
The atmosphere was electric as students participated in various track and field events, including sprints, relays, long jump and shot put. Throughout the day, students showcased their athletic abilities, cheered on their teammates, and exhibited great camaraderie with competitors from other schools.
Ms. Sharman, Miss Scott, and Ms. Sherriff extend their appreciation to all the participating students for contributing to a memorable day. They commend everyone for their efforts, which led to our school achieving 5th place out of 8 schools in our division.
We would like to recognise Mason, Samara and Millie who were invited to attend the Twilight finals to race the 1500m. Special mention to:
- Briley for the effort he put in to finish 4th in the final of the 800m
- Kassadi coming 3rd in long jump for Year 4 girls and
- Our Year 5 girls relay team who finished 2nd in the final.
Once again congratulations to the students who made the team.
Currently we have students who are bringing in toys (mostly unknown to the parent/carer) and creating issues in the classroom and playground. We ask for your support in ensuring these toys remain at home, unless organised prior with the class teacher or senior staff.
