As we come to the final week of this term it is a great time to reflect on just how much we have achieved at East Devonport Primary School. Water Safety Program, year 6 transition, eisteddfod performances, winter sports programs and excursions, term 3 at East Devonport Primary School has been an incredibly busy term. I am really proud that in a term with such, wild weather, sickness and no long weekends, our attendance rates have held firm. Thank you to all our families who have made the effort to supporting your child/children get to school this term.
Over the last few weeks our winter sports team have finished up for the year. A huge thanks to all volunteers, parents and students who were involved in these teams this year.
We also had amazing representation at the eisteddfods, our choir, year 3 and year 4 classes represented our school with such pride. Our performances were outstanding with so many positive comments from the judges and greater community. Well done to all involved.
It was great last week to host our family breakfasts. Thank you to all who came and enjoyed breakfast with us, especially to those families that took the time to fill out our 2 surveys. For those who were able to complete our 2025 East Devonport Primary Focus survey Thank you ! These results will certainly be taken into considerations as we start our planning process for 2025.
Last week we held our annual R U OK day. It was great to see so many students wearing yellow in support of such a great cause. Well done to all involved and for raising over $100.
Our year 3-4’s went to see “Shrek the Musical” performed by Latrobe High School students, last week. I am told it was a great performance. Our students certainly enjoyed the day.
Thank you to all those who supported our annual pie drive with funds going to assist our year 6 students on their Big Day Out. Thanks to everyone’s generous support we were able to raise over $2000 towards the cost of this event. This truly is an amazing effort and shows how much community support we enjoy here at East Devonport Primary School.
On Friday the 20th of September our year 5-6 classes held a peace pole ceremony. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Devonport North for the support in donating the pole last year. I believe the message on the pole “may peace prevail on earth” is so such an important message at this time.
Just a quick reminder that this Friday is Footy Colour Day. I look forward to seeing students dressed in their favourite football team.
What an incredibly busy term we have had at East Devonport Primary. I hope everybody gets the chance to get some rest in over the holiday period. It is a great chance to recharge our batteries and come back next term. Term 4 is without doubt going to be even busier for us!! I look forward to seeing everybody back in full school uniform on the first day of next term.
Have you noticed the new timber framework out the front of the garden space on Thomas Street?
We received a grant from Housing Choices to build a Seed Library!!! Seed libraries provide a space to trade free seeds. Take what you need, give what you can.
Some of our year 6 students have been helping the incredibly resourceful and skilled coordinator Bevin (also an amazing kitchen volunteer) build the Library.
It is coming together!
We hope it is completed by the end of the term and to have a pizza party to celebrate and introduce the library to the community in the new year. Stay tuned!
Spring has definitely sprung in our school garden. Check out the amazing picture below. Even our garden participated in R U OK day.
Did you know you can still participate in CU activities this year? Nursing students are running some fun interactive activities in their state-of-the-art training ward.
