5 Crossin/Willis
At the end of term 2 Year 5CW had a class birthday party where we celebrated everyone’s birthday. We started off playing minute to win it games with a favourite being the cup stacking challenge. After the games we decided as a class to use all the cups to make a huge tower – which thankfully did not fall down until Logan, Lachlan and Saxon got to run through the tower. To finish the morning we played a game of birthday present thief followed by a cupcake each.
Recently we have had the chance to check out the new swings in the early years playground and we now want some for the upper primary playground.
Saxon has completed the new Star Wars jigsaw and he managed to lift it up all on one piece to show how his jigsaw expertise.
This term in reading we are learning about the Titanic. Students are working hard to put together a 3D puzzle of that majestic ship. The puzzle is really difficult and is taking a lot of patience to complete.
On Wednesday 2nd August 5CW visited the Devonport Lapidary Society. Volunteers of the society assisted us in polishing rocks, creating gem trees, making faces (faceting) on stones, polishing stones and even panning for some gold and semi-precious stones. As you can tell from the pictures everyone had a great time.
