It has been an extremely busy start to our term. We had an excellent learning day for staff last Friday where we concentrated on how to design our classrooms to accommodate as many learning styles as possible. Lewina from Panda Physiotherapy challenged us to look at spaces differently and how to create safe, multi-functional learning spaces.
The generosity of our school community always fills me with pride. This year we have supported over 15 different groups and raised over $1500 to support many worthwhile causes. Recently we have supported, Bandanna Day, Footy Colours Day and a Day for Daniel, truly excellent work from our community.
As the days get longer and the sun certainly gets stronger, please be reminded that hats must be worn outside. Also, a reminder that hoodies are not part of our school uniform. Student wearing hoodies or non-school uniform will be asked to stay in our courtyard or deck area for their own safety at break times.
We have had several blocked drains around our school recently and you may have seen some works going on to repair them as quickly as possible. Like all works at the moment there is some delays, and we thank our community for your support in keeping students away from these sites whilst we get our works finished. Unfortunately, we are also experiencing significant delays in getting Miss Wellings year 4 classroom fixed after some storm damage. We thank the children and families for being so understanding as we wait for repairs to the class to make it safe for all as quickly as possible.
Our year 6 transition program is now actively supporting our students in readying themselves for high school. Over the next several weeks all of our students will be involved in some transition programmes to help the transition in 2025.
As we start to prepare for 2025, we remind our community that Kindergarten enrolments are vital for us to fully plan for next year. If you have a child who will join us in kindergarten next year, we ask you to contact the office so we can meet and discuss how we can help make the start next year as smooth as possible.
We are in the very early stages of planning for classes in 2025. Our community has clearly identified smaller classes as a priority for next year. We are presently looking at many options to make this happen. If you or your child has any consideration, we should be aware of for next year, please write them down and give them to the office, we will do our best to support all children class placement for 2025.
Students have been working hard in the garden harvesting some amazing vegetable for our hot lunch program.
Students in 5-6 Sherriff learnt about yeast during their science lesson, they then worked with Mr Jago and made some bread rolls. Looks like they were very yummy.
