Principal's Report
East Devonport Primary School has achieved so many amazing things throughout 2024. It has been a privilege to be a small part of the outstanding success this year. Our school data has shown growth in school belonging, participation and engagement with teachers. This is highlighted by our continual growth in our attendance which has increased by over 2% this year, an outstanding effort. We have also had over 54% of our students attend more than 90% of days this year. This is such a pleasing result for our school and shows how much this community values education.
Can I take a moment to pause and thank Ms Abbie Scott and Ms Tessa Lee for their contributions to East Devonport Primary School. I am sure the whole school will join me in thanking them. We wish them all the best as they embark on new adventures. In 2025 we will be welcoming the following teachers,Miss Kayla Simpson who is returning from maternity leave, Mr Jye Snare, Mr Brett Smith, Ms Samantha Stott, Mr Joe Smallbon, and Siobhan Andrews to our school. We would also like to welcome Mr John Perry and Jessinda Jones who will be joining our leadership team.
As for new adventures, may I wish the year 6 students all the very best for 2025 and into the future. While most of our students will be moving on to Reece High School, some will be moving to other schools to continue their schooling. Thank you to the families that have supported them and us in their time at East Devonport and know that you will be there to support them as they move forward.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to East Devonport this year. I have said on many occasions how lucky as a school we are to have such community support. A very genuine thank you to you all for the amazing work and support this year.
I wish you all the best for the festive season and hope you have a very safe and happy new year.
